About This Quote
You've got to marinate your head, in that time and culture. You've got to become them."(Speaking about researching, and reading, and immersing yourself in History) This quote is from the movie "American Gangster." The quote was used to explain to Denzel Washington's character how he had to submerse himself in the lifestyle of his mobster character. In order for Denzel Washington to truly understand what his character was going through he had to become a part of the culture. If he tried to understand it by just watching it on TV or reading a book then he would not be able to truly understand what was going on, but by getting involved in the culture that surrounded it he could better understand.
